Serhan is investigating the concept of microwave electrothermal thruster. Serhan built a prototype microwave electrothermal thruster and has carried out preliminary experimental tests.

Serhan's work has both numerical and experimental parts. Serhan has begun his research in May of 2013. However, he began studying the topic of space propulsion in February 2013.
